[Before the vigil began, Veronica spoke to the pilgrims:]
Veronica: . . . that the whole ceiling light in the kitchen fell down on her [a pilgrim]. Watch. She narrowly missed the glass, and you know, that happened to me. Remember I told you. Mysteriously the whole cord burned on my light in a place that never burns, and down comes the glass and missed me like that. I would have really been bashed in. Heavy glass chandeliers.
And this happened to two other women. They wrote to me this week. That’s why they didn’t attend the last vigil, because she was shattered, she had some glass in her face. Strangest things. And it’s all satan’s way to stop you, really.
I even told Father [words not clear]. I told Father Dunn. And I said, "Father could you possibly allow us use the church. It’s most difficult."1 "Oh no," he says, "that is forbidden."2 While he’s looking at you, he says, "Why don’t you call it off." "Me, call it off," I said! "It's not on me. Our Lady says, 'Come,' we come." So you know.
1. Veronica sought to relieve the difficulty of the elderly enduring the outdoor night three-hour vigils in the cold New York City winter by bringing the vigils into the Church.

The refusal of the clergy of St. Robert's to allow Veronica to hold the vigils in the Church, on this and other occasions when she had asked, would lead to the local community rising up against the vigils, resulting in their relocation to the Vatican Pavilion site in Flushing Meadows Park in May 1975.
Lady: Is he the pastor?
Veronica: No, he’s Father Dunn, He’s the assistant pastor. No, he’s the assistant pastor.
But I will say, I was most surprised. Definitely because we did [words not clear] receive a [Christmas] card—but from all people, Fr. McNulty.
[Confusion of voices.]
Lady: What did he say?
Veronica: Not much. He says, Our Lady of the Roses Shrine, to Veronica and the friends, Fr. McNulty. He now has the tape and he now has the messages. He gets the messages all the time, so we’ll see. Yes, yes, it all takes time.
[The pilgrims then started speaking too close to the microphone to hear Veronica clearly. She talked about all the letters coming in from all parts of the world:]
Veronica: Actually, in not . . . Our Lady’s progress very far. . . . come from all over the world. So actually the Shrine is being established . . . always are coming. Oh, from Trinidad, Spain, Italy, South America. The message is getting out. . . .
Well, I think we’d better start. We’ll say the short exorcism.
[The short St. Michael exorcism is prayed.]
Veronica: And a good Act of Contrition.
[An Act of Contrition is prayed then the Rosary is started.]
[Pause]
[Our Lady then appeared to Veronica and spoke to her:]
Our Lady: "My child, you would not have suffered the inner turmoil would you have listened to My cautioning you to remain within yourself before each vigil. By not retiring in full prayer at least one hour prior to the vigil, your soul would meet with the disturbing forces that are working from satan to destroy your mission here on earth.
ABORTIONS
"Many peoples must unite to stop the slaughter of the Holy Innocents. Your God commands with a stern hand. You and your conduct are being tolerated only because of the elect at this moment.
"Already the Father has sent you many warnings which you fail to recognize.3 Observe the near future and open your eyes to the truth, for the hand of God is ready to strike.4

"Those living in the light have nothing to fear, for all body discomforts or destruction will only remove the shackles that bind your soul to this darkening earth.
ST. MICHAEL THE LEADER
"Jesus sends His emissary down to strengthen you in the battle. Michael will stand beside all who call; for he is the leader, the warrior chosen by God for His army.
"The Father now diffuses the Spirit throughout the world. Pray not that He will find need to remove the Spirit, for then no words will describe the hell upon you all.
"Without the Spirit, man will act as insane to his brother. There will be no law, no order, no charity of heart. Man will be as animal.
EUTHANASIA
"The hardness of heart I see in man already has reached out to destroy the unwanted aged and infirm. Only when this practice becomes a way of life, which I warn you now is in progress, will those of true spirit shudder in fright.
"I place this truth with you. I cannot see beyond '71.
"No, My child, I do not close My eyes to what lies ahead or try to, at this time, pinpoint any dates; for all is in the will of the Father. But I must admonish you that, again, I do not use My words lightly.
"Tell the dear soul that the Rosary of the little children is much loved in Heaven."
[Veronica then told the scribe, the lady near her who was handwriting the message on a lapboard:] And you can put in parenthesis there, so we understand, (Francisco and Jacinta).
[Pause]
[Our Lady then spoke to Veronica:]
Our Lady: "Like little children, you must follow My Son in loving obedience, questioning not the motives or methods of Heaven, but confidence in His all-knowing goodness."
[Pause]
Veronica: I see the floor in the chamber of the League of Nations5, but I do not see faces behind the desks. I see serpents, their tongues lashing out in every direction.

Our Lady: "Where is the godhead in this group? What is their true purpose, as they play with the lives of millions?
"Liars, sent by the father of all liars!
"Trust not in the ways of man, but place your full trust in your God.
SOUL DESTROYERS FROM ENGLAND
"Many materials destructive to the soul are being shipped here from England. These soul destroyers are included in the practice of witchcraft, devil worship—soul destroyers!
"Who opens the doors to this brood of vipers?
[Pause]
"O My child, if I could take you on My travels, what sorrow would fill your heart. Already many are imprisoned because of the love of My Son and the upholding of the truth. And sad to say, the imprisonment is also within your country that has always been called the land of the free."
[Pause]
[Veronica then spoke to a pilgrim near her:] . . . Our Lady said She cannot promise a [word not clear] but I, I hate to say it. . . . someone in this group that is going to be [word not clear] to Heaven. Soon. I don’t know who it is. Someone who is very seriously ill at the present time . . . [words not clear].
[Pause]
[Our Lady gave Veronica a private message. Veronica very quietly repeated Our Lady's words:]
Our Lady: “There is one among you who is very ill and will join us soon here in the Kingdom. [Our Lady then said:] Soon.”
[The Rosary continued.]
[A lady asked Veronica:]
Lady: Veronica, would you like a blanket? [The weather was very cold this evening.]
Veronica: No. That’s alright.
[Pause]
[While Veronica was interpreting miraculous photographs, she and the pilgrims near her saw red drops fall from the sky. They thought it was blood. Veronica tells a man to put a cross near the area where the blood-like drops had fallen. When he placed the cross near the area, a burst of stars appeared in the sky.]
[Confusion of voices.]
[Veronica tells scribe to write:] "Golden stars seen in the sky to the right of the statue over the roof of the old St. Robert’s Church. . . . Beautiful."6
6. The original printed copy of the message has written: At this time there appeared a burst of gold stars in the sky over the roof area of the old St. Robert's church. The whole phenomenon lasted a short while, for a trail of pink light trailed this event up in the heavens. Many present at the Shrine saw the spectacle.
[The Rosary continued.]
[Pause]
[A rose then fell from Our Lady’s statue's hand and Veronica was instructed by Our Lady to give it to a woman named Josephine. People remark how the rose fell, and how Our Lady made it fall from the hand of the statue. Veronica then asked if anyone would like to start the Rosary. The pilgrims start singing hymns then the Rosary is prayed.]
[Pause]
[As Veronica sat with the scribe, she could be heard quietly talking to her, but not all her words are clear:]
Veronica: I was trying to convince my neighbor first . . . It’s like, I come home, oh! oh! No. I imagine how just you look at things. They don’t understand. They don’t understand. It’s like they’re living in another world, like Our Lady says, it’s hard for them to understand. It’s hard enough. Like my husband says, 'if it happened some place else I could see it, but here in New York?'
Scribe: Where it’s needed, really.
Veronica: That’s right. Our Lady goes where She goes to . . . especially here because, here it, see, of—like in tonights message, She mentions again, Our Lady, about the murders. And even at home in my Rosary prayers Our Lady constantly reminds me of the murders and the necessity of prayer. And how many, wherever, you can keep a count of how many have been murdered. Our Lady keeps a count of the murders here every day.
And She, and, Oh, you’ll see in one of the messages—the last, the last Vigil, I have it typed up, but we’re going to make a—but the mothers taking their daughters—the mother, the mothers will bring their daughters to the abortionists. And then, Our Lady says, they will be in hell forever. Oh! It must be awful. Oh, it must be awful. Oh heaven!
[Pause]
[Veronica asks the pilgrims:] Remember that song we sang at the last Vigil, Our Lady likes that: Immaculate Hear of Jesus.
Lady: To Jesus Heart all burning?
Veronica: Yes! Yes! That’s it!
[The crowd sings.]
Veronica: Would you like to sing, Mother Dearest?
[The crowd sings Mother Dearest, Mother Fairest. The Rosary continued.]
[Pause]
[Veronica then alerts the scribe that she is to start writing the message again and she alerts the pilgrims that they are to start tape recording the message. Then she says:]
Oh, I'm sorry to stop you here, but Our Lady said the rest of this Rosary must be continued, because—this is a very, very horrible thing that Our Lady said—that at this very moment many lives are being lost without grace. Without having the grace, these people are now at this moment dying, and we will see in the papers the evidence of such.
Our Lady also said because of revelry and sin this evening, many lives will be lost. And you will count them in your morning papers, She said. This evening—that means there will be many dying this evening. Oh, what a horrible thought! Oh! And Our Lady just said that—continue a Rosary for these souls now that are already dying, She said, and not in the state of grace.
[The pilgrims express great concern for the souls being lost and begin to pray loudly.]
[Pause]
Veronica: Oh! You must write this. Our Lady said:
Our Lady: “Due to the mixture of drugs and drink, the deaths will be counted so numerous.”
Veronica: Oh, my! Oh! I don’t remember what else Our Lady said. It got me so upset. [Veronica starts crying.]
[The prayers continued.]
[Pause]
[Our Lady then spoke to Veronica:]
Our Lady: "How sad to see many dying in the pursuit of revelry and worldly body pleasures.
DRUNKENNESS AN ABOMINATION
"Drunkenness has always been an abomination in the eyes of the Father, and time will never distort the word of God. Time and custom never changes in the eyes of your God.
"Tonight We view all abominations taking place. We see consorts in sin destroying the sacredness of the marriage bond with drink and brain medication.
"What honor, what constructive pursuit is there that will destroy the total personality of man, reducing him to the animal level in emotions and actions. The heavy hand of God will not fall lightly on these offenders.
"Always remember that excesses weaken the soul.
"Gluttons of worldly pleasures, can you not see the sorrow, the many miseries of starving nations, and souls leaving this earth untimely? Is this cause for revelry and joy? Can the heart go joyously into worldly celebration when there is so much sorrow about you? Is this not the time for full prayer? Have you so little faith that you believe your time not limited? Cast not your lot in with satan now, for in His mercy our Father must often look the other way when He calls many souls to the judgment.
[Veronica joins briefly in prayer then repeats Our Lady’s words:]
Our Lady: "I repeat once again: without sacrifice, prayer, and self-denial you will not enter My Son's Kingdom. The choice is yours to make now: My Son or the world.
"Remember, this world will pass. Your soul will eventually reach judgment, but what you will harvest will depend on whether you store graces now or place yourself on a completely worldly level of living for the present.
"My first word in the New Year is PREPARE: P-R-E-P-A-R-E, underlined.
[Pause]
[A lengthy incident is then recorded about a change in the face of Our Lady's statue. Veronica tells the scribe that one of Our Lady’s eyes is closed and She is very sad. Veronica then says to everyone:]
Veronica: If you notice Our Lady’s face—it’s 25 minutes to 12, and I immediately say, a complete change in Our Lady’s statue face. Right now! She looks almost like She's crying.
Man: Better take a picture of that. Got one picture left.
Lady: Before her eyes were very wide.
Boy: I thought she was smiling before.
Veronica: You see. She looks absolutely—Our Lady—like her eyes are completely closed, feel like She's crying. Can you see it?
Ladies: Yes.
Man: Put the light on it.
Veronica: Her eyes have just about closed. Before they were so wide.
[People remark how the eyes on the statue have noticably closed while before they were wide open and you could see the pupils.]
Veronica: Look at that. Her eyes have absolutely closed. They were so big before.
[People remark again how there is a change in the statue's eyes.]
Veronica: They have closed. I seen her—I saw Our Lady gradually develop—this is Her supernatural way of showing us how saddened She is. It’s 25 to 12. And She did say many lives would be lost this evening due to drunkeness and taking of drugs.
Man: And the combination of drinking and drugs.
Veronica: And the combination of drinking and drugs. So being 25 to 12, this is the time. I think we’ll know tomorrow morning when the—the drugs and the drinking will get people—they’re waiting till the moment of 12, and many of them go absolutely wild. And the combination of the drugs and the drinking will set them completely out of their minds, you know. Tonight it’s going to be pretty horrible, what Our Lady told me, all the murders. There’ll be murders tonight.
Man: My God! Should I take a picture of Her face, Veronica? I got one shot left.
Veronica: Yes. Take a picture of Her face on this side.
Lady: There’s going to be murders.
Veronica: She said there will be murders due to insanity created by drugs and drink. So you can see how the world’s revelry is very unsafe. . . . [words not clear]
[Veronica instructed the man about taking the picture of Our Lady's face then she continued to discuss with the pilgrims about the statue's eyes closing. Eventually the prayers continued.]
[Pause]
[Our Lady then spoke to Veronica:]
Our Lady: "I bless you all, My children."
