The
Big Move
AVE
MARIA! Our operation is now under one roof. (Or just about— Michael’s
office and the art department are nearing completion.) But the great news
is that the most challenging part is over. Working against a deadline and
other obstacles and details, we moved our 2200 square-foot print shop with
10 tons of presses, machinery and equipment to our new headquarters on
time.
Whew!
Mission accomplished and muchas gracias to St. Michael. Wow, His novena
and consecration prayer really works (page 39 of our new prayer and hymn
book, Music to Heaven’s Ears).
As
you know, we purchased Our Lady’s beautiful new workshop in March 1999 (see
Golden Warrior, No. 2).
It’s a large three story, ten-room house that holds our offices with a
spacious factory attached. At the time the factory had a tenant whose
lease did not expire until October 31, 2000, so we had to temporarily
lease another building around the corner for our print shop.
Recall
that the factory was approved by the City of New York in 1930 on June 18!—the
Anniversary day of Our Lady’s apparitions.
In
any event, converting the factory into our new print and repair shop
required a lot of planning, preparing, constructing, wiring, clean-up, and
then finally, the big haul. It totaled about 1500 man-hours of work.

THE MOVE |

MOVING
DAY one of our presses;
steel roll-up door on right.
|
It
was a big, big move. And a big, big expense too—almost $20,000. The
electric roll-up door of galvanized steel cost us $4,950 alone. We know
you couldn’t help us with the heavy lifting but we sure would appreciate
your help to defray this exceptional cost that has burdened our operating
budget. We really need your kind and thoughtful gift today.
"THE
GREATEST TEST OF
heart is how much you shall give, not how much you will receive.
It is only in giving that you shall truly receive the light.”
Our Lady, March 18, 1973 |
In
this joyous season of giving, know that you are giving to perhaps the most
important cause of all: Our Lady and St. Michael’s magnanimous attempt
to reach the world with the mighty words of Heaven.
May
you be inspired to generously contribute as much as your means permit,
whether it’s $5 or $500 or more. For your convenience, you are welcome
to charge your gift with any major credit card. We can receive your
offering by
mail: St Michael’s World Apostolate P.O. Box 514,
Bayside, NY 11361
toll free orderline: 1-888-830-SMWA

fax: (718) 359-0422
Whatever
means you choose, we hope to hear from you today.
Your
gift is being used for an indispensable service that is bringing abundant
grace and peace and light to people and places where there was little or
none before.
In
fact, the plenary indulgence for the Great Jubilee Year (until January 6,
2001) can be gained by “supporting by a significant contribution works
of a religious...nature.” (along
with the usual conditions)
We
also urge you to do some before-or-after Christmas shopping by ordering
from our gift brochures. Your support there helps us a lot, too.
You
and your intentions are always remembered in our Rosaries, community
prayers, and on the sacred grounds. As a Christmas thank you to all of our
friends, patrons and benefactors, we have arranged for 30 Masses to be
offered by a devoted Marian priest.
And
thank you for all your prayers. Please keep them coming. We value them
immensely and truly understand that it is your spiritual works that anchor
this apostolate.
