MARY ROSE UPDATE:  The 15-year old devotee underwent successful 10-hour brain surgery on Monday, April 2, at Children's Hospital in Boston, Mass. The doctors removed approximately 75 percent of the tumor. Unfortunately the other 25 percent had to remain because it was too risky to remove.  Mary Rose is communicating and able to walk.  She does not have any impairment or deficit in cognition or language. We are awaiting the results of the pathology report which will determine the exact type and nature of the tumor and whether chemotherapy or radiation will be necessary.  Overall, the doctors are pleased so far and the parents are cautiously optimistic.

However, Mary Rose is in excruciating pain and discomfort on the left side of her head where the incision occurred.  Although she is on pain- killers, the doctors can't seem to effectively manage the pain. Even so, Mary Rose is bearing this courageously and as she has stated from the beginning: in complete resignation to God's Will.

Mary Rose is the daughter of Cape Cod, Mass., organizers, Tom and Mary Bauer, and the niece of Michael Mangan (SMWA pres.).  Mary Rose, the Bauer family and Mr. Mangan thank you immensely for all your prayers and Masses.  It's the reason Mary Rose is doing this well under the circumstances and they have been a tremendous support and consolation in this difficult time.

Please continue with your spiritual bouquets because Mary Rose will need every prayer she can gather as she works toward being made whole once again. We'll keep you posted with any substantial update.
